Life introduction of John Dewey:

 The famous American philosopher, educationist, psychologist and father of Pragmatism, was born on October 20, 1859, in the United States america in Vermont in a city called Burlington. His father was businessman and mother was a simple houswife. His father's name was Archibald Dewey and mother's name was Lucina Artemisia. At the aged 20, he received his B.A. degree from vermont university. After this, he has received Ph.D. dgree in philosophy of kamte. In 1888, he was appointed as professor of philosophy at the University of Minnesota. After one year teaching, he taught at Michigan University in from 1889 to 1894. He became the President of the Philosophy Department at Chicago University in 1894 and had the opportunity to teach both philosophy and education at the University of Chicago.

 In 1896, a school was established in the same university, which was named Laboratory or Experimental School. In this school, Dewey conducted experiments related to his famous theory 'instrumentalism'. He was made Director of Education in 1903, but after working for only one year in 1904, he became Professor of Philosophy at Columbia University. Dewey continued to serve in this university from 1904 to 1930.

 He went on to deliver lectures in several countries, Japan, China Turkey, Russia etc. during his lifetime. He continued in writing work, his most important education book was 'Democracy and Education published in 1993, in which the education system in democracy has been explained in detail. Apart from this, in a book called 'School and society' published in 1899, the effect of each other in the interrelationships of school and society has been studied.

 He devoted his entire life to writing education and education related books. He wrote more than 50 books during his lifetime. On 1 June 1952, he said goodbye to this world.
